So never had Trinidadian food before but I would say it was pretty good. The shrimp curry and roti was 10-10 and my wife’s curry chicken was 10-10. The owner was very sweet and nice and the place was very clean too. I definitely recommend to try this spot. PS the pepper sauce have amazing taste too .
The doubles here are perfectly authentic! And the very spice has kick and just the way I like it! Had a roti as well it was pretty good too but for sure recommend the doubles. Oh also recommend waiting for order outside as the incense are a little intense for a restaurant.
I don’t know about the customer service here since I get the food to go, and frankly I don’t care. All I can say is this food is made with real heart. The doubles are possibly the best I’ve had and I’ve had a lot and alot from Tara’s. The “Buss up shut” is delicious and comforting. Comes piping hot, chicken tender, paratha is perfection. I hope whoever is running Tara’s just keeps doing it how they’re doing it 😊. The care shows through in the food.

Just another one of my many visits here to "Tara's Roti Shop", which is the best in Tampa! Today I only had 2 doubles and they were out of this world 🌎 with the added Cucumber 🥒 and Tamarind Sauce‼️✅️❣️No peppa for Me...But she put a good helping of Chana, Cucumber and Tamarind Sauce in them today! So good 👍🏽 I had to Lick the paper clean🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️💜 I Highly recommend the doubles and the shrimp 🍤 Roti with pumpkin 🎃 added! TYSM for the GOOD FOOD❣️
First time visiting at Tara's which my sister's introduced me to, I was very excited have some Doubles and other delicacy which I didn't have in a very long time.Firstly I'm shocked of their rude and poor customer service . Most Trinidadian is customer Service Oriented. The cashier is very aggressive and disgruntled.They don't understand the concept of slight, medium and heavy pepper when you place an order. Highly recommend she goes to Etiquette classes. I did also called letting her know that the food was very spicy and she was also very rude on the phone. Seriously need Customer Service Training.
I was in Tampa for a day, and googled this place. Since I am Trini, I had to get some doubles, curry chicken and curry shrimp and rice. All I have to say is I regretted going and wasting my money. Doubles was horrible the Bara was hard no taste, curry chicken no taste missing everything watery plus chicken wasn’t cooked all the way, and curry shrimp oh my goodness that’s is Cocktail shrimp that’s not how you use to make curry shrimp; that’s laziness. The lady running the place now is rude We knew that. All of you that are saying this is the best, you must have never lived in Trinidad. Come to Orlando or go to Joy’s in Fort Lauderdale. Joy’s the best!!!

The one star review is for the disgraceful food and customer service. The only thing that was good was the sorrel that came in a bottle. As a Trini man from New York I come to find the service here is an embarrassment to our Caribbean culture.
